About the effects of Belsomra (Suvorexant) tablets 20 mg for insomnia from Japan
Japanese tablets Belsomra for insomnia contain 20 mg of suvorexant in each tablet. This dual orexin receptor antagonist decreases time to sleep onset and increases total sleep time (D. N. Rhyne, S. L. Anderson. Suvorexant in insomnia: efficacy, safety and place in therapy. Therapeutic Advances in Drug Safety. 2015 Oct; 6(5): 189–195). In general, Belsomra tablets are well tolerated and have few side effects. However, this medicine should be used with caution as it causes quick drowsiness, so one cannot drive the car or operate the machine after using these tablets. We also would not recommend to use Belsomra tablets for those who plan to wake up after sleeping less than 6-8 hours.
